Thank You for Visiting

Every four years there is an election process to allow the People to choose their Justice of the Peace. After preparing for this honorable position by serving over 40 years in Public Safety, 36 of those dedicated to the Casa Grande and Pinal County community, I am proud to announce my candidacy to be your next Casa Grande Justice of the Peace.

Once elected, I will continually evaluate for efficiency, fiscal responsibility, accountability and integrity of the Office and its staff. I will remain accessible, objective, and firm but fair in my decisions. I remain loyal to my lifelong core values instilled as a young airman in the United States Air Force;  Integrity First, Excellence in All I Do and Service Before Self.

PLATFORM

Veterans Court

I feel strongly about working with the Superior Court, County Attorney's Office, Adult Probation, Veteran's representatives and Health Care professionals, toward a regional limited jurisdiction Veterans Court.

It is my contention we are obligated to assist our veterans coping with the negative effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Our brave men and women were trained to follow orders and not complain. They were encouraged to be problem solvers and not burden others.  It is my belief that many continue to do just that and fight their way through issues without seeking outside help.

In the event the court becomes aware of problems through minor crimes, we should utilize resources to help our veterans with expert assistance. It is my belief that because they follow orders, they will comply with the direction of the court for the betterment of themselves, their loved ones and the community.

Domestic Violence Court

I also am in agreement with a Domestic Violence Court in which we not only hold violators accountable, but utilize resources to help the victims of those crimes return to normalcy. It is important to do everything we can to break the cycle of domestic violence.

While the Operations Commander at the Pinal County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, I had command oversight of the Victim Services Unit. I saw the importance of intervention and assistance for victims who had been traumatized, and more importantly that there should not be secondary victimization by the very system in place to protect them. Victims appearing in my court will be treated with dignity and respect.

Collection of Unpaid Fines and Service of Outstanding Warrants

I can promise that I will utilize the power and influence of the court to use available resources to vigorously collect unpaid fines.  It is my understanding that the Casa Grande Justice Court is currently behind over one million dollars of uncollected fines that could help offset taxpayer funding from the county to operate day to day functions of the court. This must be properly addressed and I will take action to do so.

I find it unacceptable for the court to simply issue an arrest warrant and not follow up on efforts to service the warrant. Based upon my prior experience in the career field, I know, and will utilize, avenues of approach that can be taken by the court to assist law enforcement in locating these wanted subjects within the court's jurisdiction.
